Questions we get every week

Straight answers.

Is it free?
Yes. There's no cost and no obligation. You see your results right away, without giving us your phone number.
Is my policy private?
Your documents go to a private, encrypted storage area that only Phil and Alicia can open. We delete the uploaded files automatically after 30 days and keep only the plain-English summary. We never sell or share your information.
Are you a public adjuster?
No. Legacy Roof SC is a licensed South Carolina roofing contractor (Verify license). We don't negotiate claims on your behalf or give legal or insurance advice. We help you understand what your policy says about your roof, and we document roof damage honestly.
What's ACV vs replacement cost?
Replacement cost (RCV) pays what it costs to put a new roof on today, minus your deductible. Actual cash value (ACV) subtracts depreciation for the roof's age first, so an older roof pays out less and you cover the difference.
What's a roof payment schedule?
A roof surface payment schedule is an endorsement that pays a set percentage of the roof cost based on its age. A 15-year-old roof might pay only 40–50%, even for real storm damage.
What's a percentage wind deductible?
Instead of a flat amount, your wind or hail deductible is a percentage of your dwelling coverage (Coverage A). A 2% deductible on a $300,000 home is $6,000 out of pocket before insurance pays.

Privacy note. Your policy is stored in a private, encrypted area only Legacy Roof SC's owner and office manager can open.
